hop growers of new york - Pick your own hops™ Initiative
VISION:
The 2024 Pick Your Own Hops™ Initiative is designed to promote farm to brewery connections through the easy to understand Pick Your Own model. However, it will be promoted on a B2B commercial basis for participating farms and breweries state wide. Participation of NY state hop merchants is highly encouraged as well!
This is a celebration of what the NYS Estate Grown Hops Model programs in New York can offer to the greater brewing community.
ACTIVATION:
Pick Your Own Hops™ is a chance for hop farms in New York to open up select spots for brewers to come to their farms and partner with the individual farms to choose their pick window of select hops. This will enable activation at the farm level, and it will provide participating breweries with a STRONG marketing message that celebrates their farm to pint connection here in New York State.
A separate category for Pick Your Own Hops™ will be opened up and activated at the 2024 Wet Hop Festival, as a means to celebrate the breweries and hop growers that go above an beyond to nurture the deep connection between grower and brewer.
EDUCATION:
All participants will receive VIP access to Harvest Pick Window education basics sponsored by Hop Growers of New York, and any other sponsors that wish to participate.
WET, FRESH, and PELLETIZED HOPS
Growers are encouraged to market Wet Hops, Fresh Hops (dried and baled), and work with pellet processors on minimum runs to make the pellets available.
BRAND:
Branded Pick Your Own Hops™ assests are currently being developed and will be available for marketing and advertising purposes with a membership to Hop Growers of New York.
